We are always happy to welcome new members across all sections of the choir. If you have previous experience of singing and have some sight-reading ability, why not come and join one of Leicestershire’s oldest established and well respected choirs.

Sit in on up to four free rehearsals and find out more about becoming a full member of LPC before making your decision. You are not expected to be an expert sight-reader; it is more important that you can hold pitch and have a voice quality which blends in a choir. 

Annual membership cost for the 2023/24 season is £200 (less than £6 per rehearsal) and there are options to spread the cost over 10 months.  Subscriptions are pro-rata for mid-season joiners. Students pay a much reduced rate. Rehearsals are held weekly from 7pm to 9pm on Mondays at Wigston Academy, Station Road, Wigston LE18 2DS.

The Phil is a registered charity and relies on income from ticket sales, members’ subscriptions, Patrons, and fees from advertisers in our concert programmes, to ensure that we can continue to bring quality live choral music to local people, as we have done since 1886.

People join as Patrons for many reasons; either as a retired member, as a friend or relative of a member or because, like us, you wish to support the continuation of high quality live chorale music in Leicestershire.

As a Patron, you will receive newsletters throughout the year to keep you up-to-date with forthcoming concerts, Sing Days and other choir related information. Complimentary drinks and programmes will be available for you at certain concerts during the season. You will also receive an invitation to attend the LPC AGM, held each January.

All Patrons are named in each LPC event programme unless, of course, you would rather not be mentioned.

The annual subscription to become a valued Patron of LPC is a minimum of £25 per person and is due in the summer prior to commencement of the new season. You don’t have to wait for the summer to become a Patron however and are welcome to join us at any time.
